Be An Organic Detective

HOW DO I KNOW IF A PRODUCT IS TRULY ORGANIC?

5 ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF

1. Does the organic logo seal appear on this particular product?
You don't have to play the organic guessing game. If there is no organic certification agency logo on the product, it has NOT met any organic standards.

2. Is this product certified organic? THIRD-PARTY CERTIFIED
ORGANIC?
To be THIRD-PARTY CERTIFIED organic is dramatically different than "made with organic ingredients". Ignore "all natural and organic"claims if the product does NOT have the organic seal. The terms "natural and organic" are not governed and anyone can title their product organic
or natural - even if it not!

3. Who is the certification agency and do they certify cosmetics?
There are many types of organic certification agencies. Some agencies listed on cosmetic products have only certified some of the ingredients and other agencies allow synthetic ingredients, preservatives and animal byproducts to be used. Get to know your organic
certifiers by visiting their web sites and learn more about their certification standards.

4. What percentage of organic ingredients is in the FINAL product?
Some organic certifiers only require 10% organic content. Only high level certifiers like Nature et Progres require a minimum 95% organic content and 100% natural and unprocessed ingredients.

5. Are ALL the ingredients listed?
Note the order of ingredients. It is also crucial to check if the certifier requires the company to fully disclose ingredients in their products.

Education is the best form of organic empowerment!

Want Radiant and Healthy Skin This Summer?

The beautiful summer is here; unfortunately, our skin faces challenges against harmful exposure to the ultraviolet rays of the sun causing skin to age prematurely. Where we live ( if it's a dry or humid summer) plays a big factor on how our skin reacts during the summer months. But here are some great tips for all skin types to get that glowing summer skin!

Eat an antioxidant rich diet. A healthy diet is crucial to protect yourself from and correct the effects of free radical damage. Leafy green vegetables and blueberries are only a couple of foods rich in antioxidants that greatly help stimulate your complexion's collagen growth. Salmon is an excellent source of protein, which helps nourish skin and repair damage.

Shield sun damage by applying powerful antioxidant. 97 to 98 % of the antioxidants that we eat are utilized by the body before they even reach the skin. It is important to topically apply antioxidants to the skin to protect and combat free radicals (environmental factors such as pollution) and repair sun damage Antioxidants applied to the skin in the form of natural plant extracts and oils are one of the best ways to slow the skin’s aging process. To truly get the benefits and results from amazing antioxidants be sure you are getting the highest quality botanical ingredients - first cold press extracts and oils.

Have a nice tall glass of water. Drinking plenty of water helps maintain the skin hydrated throughout the day; furthermore, detoxifying the skin, keeping it soft, fresh and clear. Don't forget to enjoy various fruits and vegetables, many of which contain high water content and will give your body photo-nutrients while replenishing water at the same time.

Do simple sun protecting things. Wear a hat in the sun and avoid too much sun exposure during peak UV radiation hours from 10 am to 1 or 2 pm. Eating a diet rich in antioxidants, applying synthetic-free antioxidants to your skin and drinking water are all great ways of both maintaining and impoving your skin and body health without risking further health and free radical damage through the use of synthetic products.

Summer is the time for some sun fun but remember to protect your skin; with these little simple insights you can help alleviate the effects of sun damage and give you beautiful summer skin.

FOUR STEPS TO BEAUTIFUL SKIN

Daily Rituals for a Radiant Complexion

Cleanse

The first step to pure and radiant skin. Gently remove surface pollutants, impurities and make-up. These types of particles can accumulate over time, clogging up the skin pores. Not only does skin cleansing remove debris from the skin, it also helps hydrate dry skin, gently removes excess oil, open pores for the skin to breathe and kills bacteria that may infect the skin.

TIP: Before cleansing your skin, be sure to wash your hands to avoid spreading any types of bacteria that may cause infection. To help prevent sagging of the skin, apply cleanser in an upward and outward motion.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating daily is crucial to tone and tighten pores, remove dead cells and leave skin glowing. Regular exfoliating helps prevent the development of acne; as a result, your complexion is smoothed, brighten and even.

Immediately after you exfoliate your skin is left smooth and radiant. This is because you have gently buffed away a thin layer of dead skin cells, which can also help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Repair

Use an antioxidant serum to break down wrinkles-causing free radicals. Antioxidants also restore intracellular moisture and repairs damage caused by oxidation and internal inflammation. Look for antioxidant serums that contain organic milk thistle, olive squalene and virgin borage oil for the best results.

Eye creams firm and tighten delicate skin around the eyes while reducing fine line. Organic chamomile extract is exceptional for soothing and decongesting to visibly reduce puffiness.

TIP: Have time to spare? Deeply hydrate your skin using a Moisture Mask, which drenches your skin in moisture, restoring a natural balance to the epidermis while rejuvenating, protecting and repairing the skin.

Moisturize

Don’t forget to moisturize! Moisturizing is essential to keep the skin looking youthful and supple, as it helps prevent the appearance of wrinkles and nourishes your skin with the essential nutrients.

Moisturizing gives the skin moisture that it has lost due to many factors such as environmental toxins, damaging UV rays or low temperatures. Use a day and night cream that harness the rejuvenating properties of carefully selected botanical extracts and extra-virgin first cold press oils to restore skin’s youthful appearance.

TIP: Only creams that are rich in potent antioxidants and other naturally occurring phyto-chemicals will tone, regenerate and firm skin.
